Data Entry / Accounting Clerk – Temp-to-Hire

About the Position

Edisto Consulting Group is recruiting a Data Entry / Accounting Clerk for an established client in the downtown Columbia area, near Williams-Brice Stadium.

This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity , with the expectation of transitioning to a permanent position after approximately 90 days, based on performance and business needs.

We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers. This position involves data entry, basic accounting tasks, and general office support.

Responsibilities

• Enter and maintain accurate information in accounting and company databases.
• Process invoices, payments, and other financial records.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Review documents for accuracy and correct discrepancies.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper files.
• Create and update spreadsheets and reports.
• Assist with purchase orders, billing, and expense tracking.
• Provide general administrative and operational support.
• Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in data entry, bookkeeping, accounting support, or office administration preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfortable working with numbers and financial information.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.

What We're Looking For

We aren't necessarily looking for someone with an accounting degree. We want someone who is good with numbers, pays attention to details, and takes pride in doing things correctly.

Someone with experience as an Accounting Clerk, Data Entry Specialist, Administrative Assistant, Billing Clerk, or Operations Coordinator could be a great fit.
