Vice President, Communications | Sports, Entertainment & Culture

JBR Executive Search is partnering exclusively with TWENTY6 , a growing New York communications agency, on the search for a Vice President to join its senior team.

TWENTY6 works at the intersection of sports, entertainment, lifestyle, culture and consumer brands . This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who can serve as a trusted advisor to senior clients, lead teams and major accounts, drive earned media and creative strategy, and play an active role in the continued growth of the agency.

This is not a traditional, layered VP role. TWENTY6 is looking for someone who is senior enough to counsel executives and lead teams, but still enjoys being close to the work, the media and the ideas.

What You’ll Do

• Lead some of the agency’s most important client relationships
• Serve as a senior strategic counselor to executives and brand leaders
• Develop integrated communications and earned-media strategies
• Identify creative opportunities around sports, entertainment, talent, lifestyle and cultural moments
• Lead national media relations across consumer, business, broadcast, digital and trade outlets
• Guide and develop account teams while creating accountability and strong client service
• Oversee multiple accounts, programs, budgets and priorities
• Contribute meaningfully to new business, pitches and organic account growth
• Work closely with the founders and senior leadership team on broader agency priorities
• Bring ideas forward and take ownership without waiting for layers of direction
• Stay hands-on when the work requires it, from media strategy to major events and activations

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of PR / communications experience , ideally within an agency
• Strong experience leading consumer-facing brands and integrated communications programs
• Deep earned media and media relations expertise
• Experience counseling senior executives and managing high-profile client relationships
• Background across sports, entertainment, lifestyle, consumer and/or culture
• Strong team leadership and people-development experience
• New business, pitching and account-growth experience
• Excellent judgment, presence and communication skills
• Creative instincts and a strong understanding of cultural relevance
• An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset
• Comfortable operating in a growing agency where senior leaders wear multiple hats

Details

Location: New York City

Schedule: Hybrid, 3 days in office / 2 days remote

Travel: Meaningful travel may be required for client work, events and cultural moments
